A good day to be down on the allotment

Sunday seemed like a good day to toil on the soil and use my digital camera to get pictures of the allotment (this time I'm using a lower resolution and shrinking the pictures down in size). I know this has got absolutly nothing to do with the council but its an applicable skill which can be used at a later date for more council type things.

These are of the primroses which I grow under the fruit bushes. The sheet of corrugated iron you can see in the picture is for the slow worms to live under. Slow worms like corrugated iron because of the warmth in the summer and it also keeps them out of the way of the badgers.

An "applicable skill"? I like it.

Foiled again by the corrugated sheeting!

Most applicable - I was inspired by what you said about drawing pictures, so I thought I would put a bit more effort into adding visual stuff to the blog.
I left you some helpful information about when its best to visit Hastings by the way, its in the comments section from two or three days ago.

yes Badgers like slow worms. They also have a very sweet tooth, so its difficult to grow sweetcorn or peas. They wait until the peas are just about ready to be picked then they pull them down by rolling along the row! All you can do is grow mangetout and pick them b4 the badgers get there.

Or leave out some wine and sausages. That generally distracts the badgers.

(29.3.04 15:56)
Ive read the wine and sausages story and I'm perfectly happy to leave discussion in another blog thanks!

I'm not sure about the bikers. All of that leather may put me off my seafood. If I can find a cheap way to get there then I'll consider it - £19 on the train is a little too much for a daytrip.

If you are going anywhere from London you can sometimes acess special offers on things like PriceBusters (which in theory is mostly for day trips to London):

If thre are no restrictions on travel and they send tickets by post, you can use the return portion on your outward journey and the outward portion on your return journey.

I have no idea what you are insinuating about a wine and sausage story. I recall no such thing.

(29.3.04 19:26)
Also, what on earth are slow worms? Do you have fast worms over there??

(30.3.04 09:40)
- slow worms -

(30.3.04 13:06)
Is there a difference between that and a worm? They both burrow and look the same, don't they?

(30.3.04 13:45)
Honestly, Mr Humphries, that info is not fit for a councillor's site. I thinkwe should refer to them as developmentally delayed worm-types. Let's not hamper them with a label, hmm?

Frankly, I expected better of you.
