Well look at that! And what's that you've scattered around the bases of three - and what are you growing?

My tapoles, you may wish to know, after a late start turning into anything, are very much on their ways. They're huge and quite scary at this stage - they've got quite a presence in the pond. My partner, who doesn't support my frog-ambitions, has asked me to put half in a local pond instead as he's worried the garden will be overrun. He may have a point.

They be baby Sunflowers Oink.

The plastic collars are made out of 2ltr Cola bottles (cut the top and bottom off) and then the top of the collars have little cuts made in them so that you can bend the rim outwards, this makes lots of little sharp bits which slugs can't climb over. I also put a band of that copper tape around the outside and sharp sand around the base to stop the little slugs from burrowing underneath. Also, its its worth pinning each one down with a tent peg on the inside of the collar to stop it blowing away.

Good to hear about the froggies by the way, but I think you must argue to keep them all. Most of them fall foul of birds, domestic pets and lawn mowers as soon as they leave the safety of the pond, so you need lots just to avoid the cat getting them all.

Excellent. Now all I need are loads of 2 ltr bottles, but I don't drink pop. Hang on, Cider comes in 2 ltr bottle & I drink that

How do I turn the cunting pictures off? I want honest to goodness proper old school emoticons.

How do I edit my comments on someone elses blog? There are a lot of things missing here all of a sudden.

I don't drink pop either chaOtic, but I do pick stuff up off the pavement and skip raiding (or dumpster diving in the US) is also very productive.
